44thComing: The new EP of Ginoong Rodriguez (Batas)

On January 4, 2025, Batas surprised us all with the release of his new EP titled “44thComing”. Here, he changed his moniker to Ginoong Rodriguez, signifying a drastic change to his lyrical content. The 2014 and 2015 FlipTop Isabuhay Champion departed from his usual hard-hitting style to talk about how he has finally achieved contentment after going through struggles. He proudly showed appreciation to his family and friends for always being there and to his new home where he now feels inner peace. With this mindset, Ginoong Rodriguez is more than ready to face future challenges in life.

The 4-track EP is more of a family collaboration instead of a solo project. While Ginoong Rodriguez wrote the lyrics and did the mixing, his son 2-1 handled the production and mastering plus lent his voice to “Sa Bawat Hamon” and “Swerte”. His wife Joann made the cover and provided additional vocals on “Pinong Pino” together with their daughter Keons. It’s a very different vibe overall, but that just goes to show how Batas keeps it real with his artistry. “44thComing” is available on all streaming platforms.
